Access to information: Heads of Information Holders

The Information Commission inaugurated the Access to Information Conference with a collaborative workshop organized in partnership with UNESCO on Tuesday, 27th May 2025, at the Savoy Hotel, Beau Vallon. This workshop brought together Heads of Information Holders to explore global trends concerning the Right to Information, their implications for Seychelles, and the delicate balance between secrecy and transparency.

Distinguished foreign guests included Mr. Toby Mendel, Executive Director of CLB Law, and Mr. Marius Lukosiunas, Advisor for Communication and Information at UNESCO. High-level stakeholders such as Deputy Speaker Mr. Gervais Henri from the Seychelles National Assembly and Ms. Margaret Moumou, representing the Cabinet, also participated. Representatives from key national entities, including the Seychelles Media Commission, the Anti-Corruption Commission, and the Ombudsman’s Office, were among the attendees.

The event was officially opened by Ms. Mumtaz Chaka, Chief Information Officer of the Information Commission.
