ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide administrative, human resource, budget management, and procurement support services to the Information Commission.
  • Coordinate office space allocation, maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep of the Commission’s premises.
  • Manage the Commission’s budget and liaise with relevant authorities and stakeholders as required.
  • Oversee procurement processes and manage office supplies, assets, and inventories.
  • Administer service contracts and monitor the performance of service providers.
  • Coordinate travel, transport, meetings, hearings, training sessions, and other logistical arrangements.
  • Maintain administrative records, databases, filing systems, and provide secretarial support as required.
  • Coordinate recruitment, appointment, promotion, and other human resource processes.
  • Maintain employee records and support payroll administration and staff entitlements.
  • Coordinate staff training, professional development, and welfare initiatives.
  • Support performance management, employee relations, and disciplinary processes.
  • Ensure compliance with employment, occupational health and safety, pension, and other relevant public service requirements.
  • Supervise and coordinate the Administrative Section, including oversight of the Driver and Housekeeper.

RECOGNIZED QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POST

  • Diploma in Management plus four years relevant experience as an Assistant Administrative Officer; or Advanced Diploma in Business Administration or related field plus two years relevant experience.
  • Good knowledge of office administration, procurement, asset management, human resource administration, payroll processes, and records management.
  • Ability to plan, organise, coordinate, and supervise administrative operations and staff effectively.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply policies, procedures, and exercise sound judgement.

REMUNERATION

Salary Band: B2-B3 plus Inducement Allowance.

Salary package will be based on qualifications and experience.
