SENIOR DATA PROTECTION ANALYST
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead investigations, compliance audits and inspections arising from data protection complaints, breaches and other compliance matters in accordance with the Data Protection Act, 2023.
- Conduct research and monitor legislative and policy developments to provide strategic recommendations.
- Monitor and improve internal data protection processes, procedures and compliance frameworks.
- Lead stakeholder engagements and consultations, and contribute to awareness and guidance on data protection.
- Lead and deliver public awareness and education activities on data protection.
- Assess cross-border data transfers and ensure compliance with applicable data protection requirements.
- Provide technical advice and regulatory guidance to management on data protection procedures and compliance matters.
- Oversee the management of data breaches, including assessment and appropriate follow-up actions.
- Oversee data collection, verification and analysis for internal and statutory reporting.
- Review, approve and finalise investigation reports and findings.
- Plan and manage the Unit’s work, including supervision, mentoring of staff and ensuring quality of outputs.
RECOGNIZED QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POST
- Master’s Degree in Law, Business Administration, Compliance or related field plus a minimum of 3 years relevant working experience in data protection, compliance or regulatory functions; or
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Business Administration, Compliance or related field plus a minimum of 5 years relevant working experience in data protection, compliance or regulatory functions.
- Strong understanding of investigations, compliance audits and regulatory processes.
- Ability to interpret legislation and apply it in investigations and compliance activities.
- Experience in analysing data, preparing reports and presenting findings to support decision making.
- Understanding of governance, accountability and data protection frameworks.
- Good understanding of IT systems and cyber security principles relevant to data protection.
REMUNERATION
Salary Band: B5 plus Inducement Allowance.
Salary package will be based on qualifications and experience.
