The Information Commission is delighted to announce the appointment of Ms. Diana Benoit as its new Chief Executive Officer

Ms. Benoit has a professional background in public service, higher education, and research with a strong focus on governance, institutional leadership, and stakeholder engagement. In her most recent significant position, she was the Director of the Peace and Diplomacy Research Institute at the University of Seychelles for nine years. In addition to lecturing and delivering professional training of undergraduate and postgraduate levels, she has led research projects in thematic areas such as peace processes, conflict resolution, youth engagement, gender-based violence, transitional and restorative justice, human rights, and the geopolitics of the Indian Ocean.

Ms. Benoit holds two Bachelor of Arts degrees, one in Communication and Cultural Studies and another in Media and Information, and a Master’s in Public Administration.  She is currently completing a PhD in Management Sciences with a specialization in Public Administration with the Durban University of Technology in South Africa.

Ms. Benoit is committed to promoting good governance, participation, transparency, accountability, effectiveness, rule of law, and is excited to contribute towards these values at the Information Commission.
